It has been confirmed that the Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage has introduced a mixture of an inorganic fertilizer as a mixture organic fertilizer and has taken steps to distribute it among farmers.
Related logistical data confirmed that Ceylon Fertilizer Company has imported a stock of Potassium Chloride which is a mineral fertilizer.

17892 tons of this mineral fertilizer produced in the State of Belarus has been imported to Sri Lanka. They have been loaded to Colombo from a Lithuanian port sources said.
When contacted by several renowned Chemistry academics in the country they told to Lankasara that it is clear that this fertilizer could never be called an organic fertilizer.

Potassium chloride can be produced from mineral extracts such as Sylvite , carnallite and potash as well as from seawater. Belarus is the world’s largest producer of potassium fertilizers from minerals .
They also said that these fertilizers are not organic at all, but they are mineral fertilizers that are not harmful to the survival of the plants.
A professor who did not wish to be named said that the Minister could not call these fertilizers ‘mineral fertilizers’ without fear as these fertilizers are clearly referred to as mineral fertilizers in the clearance reports of this stock of fertilizers and if the Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage is not aware of this subject it is the responsibility of the Agriculture authorities to educate him
