A Swiss lover who traveled from Switzerland in search of his girlfriend to celebrate Valentine’s Day, was attacked and robbed by the woman’s husband in Jaffna yesterday (15). The injured Swiss national has been admitted to a private hospital in Jaffna for treatment.

The young man, born in Switzerland and holding citizenship there, has relatives residing in Jaffna. Unaware that his love interest is married, he fell in love with a woman from Jaffna through social media.

Expressing a desire to celebrate Valentine’s Day together, both the Swiss lover and the Jaffna woman agreed to meet in Jaffna.

However, the woman’s husband became aware of their exchanges and retained copies of their messages.
