A suspected businessman has surrendered to the police after allegedly being involved in the brutal killing of Pradeepa de Silva (52). The victim, a resident of Mulleriya Thomas Chongama, who had her limbs and head severed.
The businessman, identified as Sudhira Wasantha (57), who had been missing since the day of the murder, turned himself in to the Sapugaskanda Police. He appeared at the police station accompanied by his legal representatives.
Additionally, the second suspect in this incident, a 48-year-old individual named Kapuek, has also surrendered to the police. Kapuek, a resident of the same area, is believed to have assisted the businessman in the murder. Specifically, he is suspected of aiding in the dismemberment of the victim’s body.
At the time of surrender, the suspects also handed over the vehicle that was allegedly used to transport the dismembered body.
Currently, the Sapugaskanda police are conducting further interrogations with the suspects.
Notably, the businessman’s vehicle, which he had been using while in hiding following the murder, was discovered in Nuwara Eliya today (02).
