A grade 10 student from a school in the Pesale area of Mannar was brutally assaulted by their mathematics teacher, rendering him unconscious. The incident occurred yesterday (26), leading to the student being admitted to Mannar Hospital for treatment.
According to available information, the conflict between the student and the teacher escalated during a classroom session. It is reported that the teacher physically assaulted the student, resulting in severe injuries.
Upon regaining consciousness, the student’s family rushed to the hospital and filed a complaint with the police. Investigations into the matter are underway by both the Mannar and Jaffna Regional Central Offices.
This incident has sparked outrage within the community, prompting calls for swift action and justice for the victim.
