State Minister Jayasumana makes a strange remark on Lockdown requests

Minister of State Prof. Channa Jayasumana has stated to the media that the government is ready to lock down the country if doctors recommend doing so to Ada Derana reports.
While addressing the media from Anuradhapura He has pointed out that the government makes all decisions on the advice of medical experts. Accordingly, doctors have not yet recommended that the country be shut down to control the Covid-19 epidemic, the state minister has said.

“There is an epidemiology unit, there is a Presidential Task Force on Covid, and there are a number of other academic institutions and trade unions that work outside it, and then we are obliged to implement the official advice given to us. However, there are some people who want to overthrow the government. Also, we should concern about the live hoods of the people too.

Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Drug Production, Supply and Regulation, Prof. Channa Jayasumana further stated that the people are requested to impose self-circulation restrictions in the face of the Covid pandemic.
However, a number of professional institutions represented by medical experts have been urging the government to impose strict travel restrictions or curfew immediately for the last couple of days
