A young Tamil national from Jaffna, who had migrated to Canada, tragically took his own life by leaping from an apartment building yesterday (16).

The victim, identified as 31-year-old Raghupathi Anand from Thiruvil, Valvettithura, Jaffna, lost his life in this shocking incident.

Hailing from the Vadamarachchi area of Jaffna, Anand had been residing in Canada with a woman from the same country. However, a family dispute marred their relationship, leading to a fateful turn of events. Amidst the turmoil, Anand reportedly pushed the woman from the apartment’s balcony, intending to take his own life by jumping as well.

In a twist of fate, the woman became entangled in the railing of an upper-floor balcony, narrowly escaping a fall. Tragically, Anand was unable to escape the dire consequences he had planned for himself and plummeted to the ground.
