The Sri Lanka Cricket Executive Committee has sent a letter of demand asking 2 Billion rupees as companation to Arjuna Ranatunga, the new president of the National Sports Council, claiming that he has damaged the image of Sri Lanka Cricket and disrepute the SLC by making false and derogatory statements.
The reason for sending this letter of demand to Arjuna Ranatunga was against the statements he made while participating in a Derana Big Focus program recently.
The Sri Lanka Cricket Executive Committee convened an emergency meeting today (August 15) and announced that Arjuna Ranatunga had made a false, derogatory and distorted statement in the said television program and had discussed it extensively and agreed to take appropriate legal action against him.
It was after this that Sri Lanka Cricket sent an appeal to Ranatunga demanding a compensation of two billion rupees.
