The Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed the Minister of External Affairs and the Sri Lankan Embassy in Moscow to work out a plan to repatriate 1,500 Sri Lankan students studying in Belarus following the political interference of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in Ukraine.
The Prime Minister has given these instructions following a request made by the parents of students studying in Belarus to meet the Prime Minister today.
The Prime Minister has instructed to call the relevant universities and delay the study courses for a few weeks and obtain the necessary facilities to bring students to Sri Lanka by obtaining Russian visas.
