The Association of Specialist Doctors has emphasized to the government that if it works to provide other professionals in the health sector with an allowance proportionate to the Disturbance, Availability, and Transport (DAT) allowance, currently exclusive to doctors and specialists, there will be no option but to initiate a trade union action.
The union argues that health sector trade unions without the DAT allowance are engaged in unfair professional practices, advocating for an allowance that is not entitled to employees in their service sectors.
