Director of Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital urges local and foreign donors to help alleviate acute situation as there is a severe shortage of medicines in the coming days .

The director, Dr Jagath Wijesuriya pointed out that so far no any patient have been rejected to admitted to the hospital or postpone any surgery and all were treated using drugs and medical equipment donated by local and foreign donors, but there is a strong need for further assistance.

He said that the hospital had received assistance from foreign donors on the advice of the doctors at the hospital and that the work would continue in the future.

At present there is a shortage of about 50 types of drugs in the hospital, says the director. The director said that the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital’s official website , https://lrh.health.gov.lk mentions that donors will be able to get all the details.
