The Secretary of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Nizam Kariyapper announced today (22) that SLMC will not participate in the All Party Conference to be held on tomorrow.
Although he has stated his position today, the All Ceylon People’s Congress led by Rishad Bathiudeen has not yet announced its participation in the conference.
The main party in the opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya and Jathika Jana Balawegaya Ceylon Workers Congress, a party representing the government. The Tamil People’s National Alliance led by C.V Vigneswaran and the All Ceylon Tamil Congress, TELO representing the Tamil National Alliance and the Tamil Progressive Alliance led by MP Mano Ganeshan have announced that they will not take part in the All Party Conference.
It is reported that the TNA will join the event despite internal conflicts.
However the United National Party has confirmed that it will participate in the Conference.
