He was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department as per a request made by the Computer Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department, which is investigating him.

The forgery that this person is doing openly was exposed in all the media as well as through Buddhist religious leaders, but the law enforcement agencies of the country did not show any specific reaction yesterday (14) after the memorandum sent to the President by the Maha Nayaka Theras of the All Nikayas naming this person in writing. The Criminal Investigation Department is in a hurry to make the arrest.

Balangoda Kashyapa Thera had said a few days ago that the revelation about this person happened before he came to this country and that the Criminal Investigation Department and other related departments were informed about him but no action was taken in this regard. However, the Fort Magistrate’s Court imposed a travel ban against this person and called for a report on the bank accounts.
