A Scottish tourist, identified as Wilkie James Mills, aged sixty-five, passed away following the visit to Sigiriya Pidurangala Temple today (09). Mr. Mills, a resident of 01 A Tant Log Terrace, North Balwick, East Lokian EH 394LE, Scotland, was on a visit to the country with his wife.
The couple had visited the Sigiriya Pidurangala Templ, and upon returning to their hotel in Habarana, Mr. Mills fell seriously ill. He was promptly admitted to Habarana Hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to chest pain.
Habarana Police are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Mills’s sudden illness and subsequent demise. The police have confirmed that the deceased’s body has been placed at Habarana Hospital.
Polonnaruwa Senior Superintendent of Police Nishan De Silva has indicated that further inquiries are underway to determine the cause of this unfortunate incident. The local authorities extend their condolences to the family of Mr. Mills during this difficult time.
