Sanath Jayasuriya, the world-renowned Sri Lankan cricketer and the newly appointed Ambassador of Sri Lanka Tourism, has condemned the government for using the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) to crack down on anti-government protesters.

In a twitter message, he says
“It is deeply concerning to see so many arrests of protesters and detaining some under terrorism laws. We are slowly limping to normalcy. This is the time to look forward not backwards. To error is human to forgive devine.”
