Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said this morning that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and the Samagi Jana Alliance were committed to building the country and hoped that the Bar Association would intervene in the matter.
Making a statement following the meetiong of te Bar Association of Sri lanka the Opposition Leader further said that he would not hesitate to make any sacrifice in this regard.
The Leader of the Opposition said that it was essential to abolish the executive presidency in accordance with the 21st Amendment introduced by the Samagi Jana Balawega and the Samagi Jana Alliance and to strengthen democracy and build a functioning government through accountability and accountability.
Sajith Premadasa said that there was no major discrepancy between the proposal submitted by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka and the 21st Amendment tabled by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
He said the main reason for the current crisis was the executive presidency, which should be abolished immediately.
The Leader of the Opposition said that the important thing at the moment was not to wear crowns or positions but to fulfill social and national responsibilities. He said that he was ready to make all possible sacrifices for that.
