Sajith Premadasa, the presidential candidate of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), made it clear yesterday (04) in Galle that he will not be joining forces with President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Speaking at a campaign rally held at Samanala Stadium, Premadasa said:
“We have a clear plan and philosophy. The government, led by the president, claims that many things in our manifesto are impossible. Now they are sending SMS messages nationwide, suggesting they are following in the footsteps of the SJB.”
He added, “As our victory approaches, the president and JVP are spreading false rumors on Facebook and paying to advertise on social media, suggesting we are joining forces.”
“On the 21st, after the United People’s Force wins, we will unite with the 22 million people of this country. We have no intention of joining corrupt political parties.”
Premadasa further stated, “The president and the leader of the National People’s Power (NPP) seem eager to join forces. If they want to, they can go ahead and do so.”
