Vimal Sokkalingam, a well-known Tamil journalist, tragically lost his life in London after being hit by an electric train while out for physical exercise yesterday (02).
He was 76 years old and had an illustrious media career that spanned several international media organizations, starting as an announcer at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation.
Last May, he returned to Sri Lanka and organized a book release ceremony in Jaffna.
The funeral of the late Wimal Sokkalingam is scheduled to be held in London on Saturday (05).
The journalism community mourns the loss of a respected and accomplished professional.
