A regional tsunami simulation exercise is set to take place tomorrow (04), as announced by Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapakse to Parliament. The exercise aims to evaluate the preparedness of coastal communities and school students in the Trincomalee, Galle, and Matara districts.
The Disaster Management Center is organizing the exercise with the goal of assessing the effectiveness of tsunami early warning notification systems established at various levels in Sri Lanka, from the national to the village level.

The Deputy Speaker emphasized that the Disaster Management Center has requested that all Members of Parliament, including those representing coastal districts, be informed about this important exercise.
