A group of people who aspire to face the hustings of various sports bodies are planning to resort to legal action since the new gazette notification of the minister of sports has virtually shut them out of contesting the elections.
The new regulation that a statement declaring assets and liabilities for a period of three years should be furnished along with nominations has given rise to a major issue among these prospective applicants.
The reason for such a move, according to sources, is that people who get elected to these positions eventually end up as multi-millionaires compared to their original beginnings.
