From today, the composition of domestic gas cylinders will be displayed.
Litro Gas Chairman Theshara Jayaratne said the move was taken as ordered by the court and the Sri Lanka Standard Institute also recommended the standard Propane percentage should be less than 30 percent.
Accordingly, the body of domestic gas cylinders will contain 30% propane and 70% butane, he said at a media briefing held at the Presidential Media Center today.

Responding to a question raised by a journalist regarding the allegation made by the public that the new seal was affixed on top of the old seal on some gas cylinders, the Chairman said,
“There is no such thing as new gas or old gas. The steps taken to attach the stricker and the composition are as per the court order. The deficit will continue for a while. “
