Professor Chandima Jeewandara nominated for best young researcher award !

Professor Chandima Jeevandara, Director of the Department of Allergy Immunology and Cell Biology, University of Sri Jayawardenepura, has been nominated for an award for young researchers of the world.

The awards are hosted by the British Society for Immunization

This nomination has become a significant as 5 of the 6 nominated scientists who are British and Prof Jeewandara stands as the only scientist from all over the world .

This award will be presented on April 20.

Commenting on the achievement Professor Chandima Jeevandara, said that he was happy to be nominated for this award and that he was proud to be selected as a Sri Lankan among 5 British nationals.

He also emphasized that this will be a strength to carry out more researches in Jayawardenepura Vihwa Vidyalaya.

He said that research was conducted last week on the extent of dengue and covid spread throughout Sri Lanka and the results will be revealed shortly.
