The party leaders of the Parliament have decided to hold Sri Lanka Cricket-related inquiries of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Affairs (COPE) without Professor Ranjith Bandara’s Chairmanship. This was discussed in the party leaders’ meeting held in the Parliament this morning (25) and the party leaders have reached a common agreement.
However, it has been agreed to inform Professor Ranjit Bandara and ask his opinion in this regard. Sources further stated that there is no focus on removing the full-time professor from the COPE presidency.
He was alleged to have undeclared connections with Sri Lanka Cricket raising concerns of conflict of interests following a recent COPE meeting on Sri Lanka Cricket
Meanwhile, parliamentary sources say that the parliamentary committee to be appointed regarding cricket is also ready to be convened and inquired about all matters.
