All security forces, including the Air Force, have started a special investigation into the emergency landing of the backup helicopter of the President’s helicopter. President Ranil Wickremesinghe was traveling from Jaffna to Kegalle.
A Bell 412 (SUH 522) helicopter belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force landed on a paddy field of Eppawala, a village in Anuradhapura District yesterday afternoon.
The cause of this landing, which was done without damage to property or life, was said to be a technical fault.
The Air Force technical team solved the problem within a few hours.
