Presidential Secretariat spells out the entitlements of the State Ministers

The Presidential Secretariat has been compelled to issue a circular emphasising the entitlements, privileges, and facilities the government could afford for a state minister.

This has been necessitated due to the pressure exerted by the state ministers on the ministry secretaries demanding more privileges than what was stipulated in the directive.

Due to the pressure exerted by the state ministers on the ministry secretaries regarding their privileges, the secretaries have asked the presidential secretariat for clear direction in this regard.

The President’s Secretary in turn has issued a series of instructions to all the secretaries of the ministries, stating that all possible efforts should be made to prune down public expenditure.

It has been stated that no state ministries will be functional but work with the relevant line ministries. It has also been directed to appoint an Additional Secretary or another officer of equivalent rank attached to the line ministry for duties and administrative work of the state ministries.

The President’s Secretary has also informed  that the officers such as Private Secretary, Coordinating Secretary, Media Secretary, and Public Relations Officer should be employed temporarily for the duration of their ministerial tenure.

The President’s Secretary also points out that only the state ministerial staff’s private secretary, coordinating secretary, media secretary, and public relations officer will get vehicle facilities subject to the government’s approved fuel allowance.
