President Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to embark on a four-day official visit from January 4th to 7th, during which he will launch several development schemes for the people of the North.
The President will travel to Jaffna and Vavuniya provinces, engaging in meetings with District Development Committees. The visit will include discussions on development projects, and the President will interact with the local community.

The President’s visit will focus on discussions with local residents, addressing their concerns, and providing solutions to issues such as land problems. Additionally, on Thursday (04), the President is expected to launch a project to provide clean and potable water to the residents of Jaffna. The initiative, costing Rs. 250 million, aims to improve water supply and address water-related issues in the region.
The visit will involve interactions with university officials, religious leaders, fishermen organizations, and hospital representatives to discuss and address urgent needs and amenities. The President aims to foster development and address the concerns of the people in the Northern provinces through these initiatives.
