State Minister for Education Reforms, Open universities and distant education Susil Premajayantha has been removed from his post with immediate effect, Presidential Spokesman Kingsley Ratnayake said. He also said in a Twitter message that the Minister of State had been removed from his post following powers vested with the President.
The state Minister also made a controversial statement to the media regarding the government recently and stated that the country has been devastated by doing what it could not do and that what should be done now is to hand over the country to a group that can do it and leave.
