President Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka has appointed a group of esteemed individuals to serve on the Election Commission (EC) and the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission (HRC).
The appointments were made with the objective of selecting individuals with extensive experience and expertise in their respective fields.
The Election Commission welcomes the appointment of retired Supreme Court Judge L.T.B. Dehideniya, who will be joined by Nimalasena Gardiya Pundihewa, Thaiyamuthu Thanaraj, Prof. Fatima Farsana Hanifa, and Dr. Gehan Dinuk Gunathilaka.
Additionally, R.M.A.L. Ratnayake, a former Additional Election Commissioner General, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Election Commission. Other members of the Election Commission include M.A. Pathmasiri Chandrawansa Perera and Amir Mohammad Faiz.
