A mother , father and a grandmother of a 10 year boy of Badalgama were arrested by the police last evening (09) on charges of causing their child to die by praying religiously without seeking medical treatment. Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that the police had arrested the them while they were was praying for kid’s life, even though he had died without any treatment.
Police entetred their house following a complaint by the residents of the area that there was a strong stench in the area.
The deceased has been identified as a child living in the Andimulla area in the Badalgama Police Division. The Police Media Spokesman further stated that the child has contracted a disease related to mucus congestion in the throat and he had prayed for his recovery.
Police Media Spokesman Thalduwa stated that children should not be treated in this manner and they should not be made victims and such persons should be dealt with according to the law.
