It is reported that the Senior DIG in charge of Western Provinces Deshabandu Tennakoon who has been leading the police since yesterday (09) to obstruct people from participating mass protest is not contactable for further instructions police sources said.
He has been accused by the police of working together with the minister in charge of police to put pressure on the Inspector General of Police to impose police curfew. Then it is reported that he had ordered to control this people’s protest by force.
The police officers who have been called for special duties say that they are unable to contact the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in order to get the further instructions they need as he has switched off his phone and they do not know any information about his whereabouts.
Police officers say the SDIG Deshabandu is not contactable!
