Japan which had close friendship with Sri Lanka since 1952 brought 3 Billion USD worth of projects to Sri Lanka but they have been told we don’t want even without negotiations or saying thank you Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe said today. He further said that although the country is in a dire need of help from friendly countries but stressed the difficulties in bringing back confidence on them .

Addressing a Conference the Prime Minister further said we are lucky that India has comeforward to helping us at the need of a hour.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that that the worst of the economic crisis in Sri Lanka is yet to come.
“We are not going to add the Ukraine crisis to the Sri Lanka crisis. In fact it’s going to be the Sri Lanka crisis multiplied by the Ukrainian crisis”
“We may not have food. Our food supplies are enough until September or October. We didn’t have enough fertilizer for either Maha or Yala seasons”
“ As the economy fails, more and jobs are lost and more and more big and small enterprises are collapsing. Time may come where people may not eat 3 meals a day”
