Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has requested the President to immediately remove the Minister of Investment Promotion Dhammika Perera from the ministerial position, who broke the collective cabinet tradition internal sources of the government discloed.
The sources further state that the Prime Minister has informed the President that if the President does not take a decision regarding Dhammika Perera, he will have to take a decision.
The sources have revealed that the Prime Minister has informed the President that the controversial media statement by the Minister Dhammika Perera ‘s call for Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to resign from the position of Finance Minister will be severely impacted to the functions of the govrnment.
Meanwhile, there has been strong opposition to the statement made by Dhammika Perera even among the Members of Parliament in SLPP
