It is reported that Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pilleyan, who was recently appointed as a Minister, has fled to Malaysia.
It is reported that he and Yoshitha Rajapaksa and his wife left the country on the 8th and boarded a Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore and from there to Malaysia. Meanwhile, some reports say that he had fled to Malaysia in a hired boat.
According to Tamil political parties, he intends to move to a European country from there and has requested that facilities be provided for people in three European countries.
He was convicted on a number of charges and was imprisoned, but was recently acquitted of all charges. He was later offered a ministerial post.
