Ananda Palitha, Samagi Jana Balawegaya party-affiliated trade union leader of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has been arrested by the CID today (21) evening. The arrest was taken place while he was in his residence in Welisara.
According to the Police, Mr. Ananda Palitha was taken into custody with regard to a public statement he made on fuel shortage recently. He had claimed that the remaining fuel stocks in the country would be sufficient only for 11 days.
