A fish vendor of the Peliyagoda fish market who had gone into hiding in Mannar has been apprehended and a PCR test carried out on him. Today (26) it was confirmed that he had contracted Covid 19.
Mannar District Health Services Director D. Vinodan said that he had come to the Puthukudiirippu area in Mannar and hid in a relative’s house.
He was arrested on a tip-off and was taken to Kandakadu Corona Medical Hospital as he was a corona patient.
The Mannar health authorities have taken steps to conduct PCR tests on those living in the house he was hiding in and have quarantined them.
