The President of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, has dissolved Parliament as of midnight today. An official gazette has been issued, stating that the new Parliament will meet on November 21. The gazette also announces that the General Election will take place on November 14, 2024. Nominations will be accepted by returning officers from October 4 to October 11.
