As of January 5th this year, a total of 34,415 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka, according to data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.
Australia Ranks 5th in Tourist Arrivals
Among the nations contributing to this figure, Australia accounted for 1,708 tourists, placing it 5th among the countries sending the most visitors during this period.
Russia Leads the Chart
Leading the list of tourist arrivals is Russia, with 6,481 visitors recorded between January 1st and January 5th.
India Follows Closely
India ranks second, with a significant 6,183 Indian tourists arriving in Sri Lanka during the same timeframe.
Strong Presence from the UK and Germany
The United Kingdom and Germany also made notable contributions, sending 2,928 and 2,921 tourists respectively during the first five days of January.
This surge in arrivals reflects Sri Lanka’s growing appeal as a top travel destination in 2025.
