Over 100 Policemen have tested positive for Covid 19. According to Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana 125 officers have tested positive. At least 78 policemen with the virus were detected yesterday including officers from the Borella and Foreshore Police stations.
DIG Ajith Rohana said that the policemen detected most recently with the virus were not involved in normal duties.
He said that the most recent cases are of officers placed in quarantine centers. Steps have been taken to deploy additional officers to these police stations. Four medical facilities have been prepared to treat Police officers, Police HQ said.
