Special Operations to arrest drugs consumed drivers will start from today, Police says. The Police Traffic Division has received equipment from the National Road Safety Council to identify drug users by their saliva and urine.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that these operations will commence from the Western Province from today.
This program has been launched to coincide with the World Accident Prevention Week which is taking place today.
An app has also been launched today to provide the public with photos and video information regarding road accidents and drivers violating traffic rules.
Ajith Rohana says that the public can contact the traffic police and provide that information by downloading the app named ‘eTraffic Sri Lanka’ from a smartphone.
