The National Police Commission (NPC) today (09) announced that it has approved the promotion of SSP Bimshani Jasin Arachchi to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG).
She will be the first female DIG in the history of the Sri Lanka Police. Jasin Arachchi was promoted to the rank as she is the most senior female officer in the force. Accordingly, she has been appointed as the DIG of the Police Welfare Division as of October 08 (Thursday) .
