There will be no shortage of eggs in the coming festive season and thus consumers will be able to buy as many eggs as they need at a lower price than the government’s controlled price Chairman of the All Ceylon Egg Producers’ Association R.M . Sarath Attanayake said.

Therefore he requested consumers not to buy eggs for more than Rs.50 from any retailer

The Egg producer’s Chairman further said that there is a great demand for eggs from bakeries especially for food items including cakes produced for the upcoming festive season, but consumers will have the opportunity to buy eggs without shortage.

Egg production is going on successfully in all the poultry farms across the country and in two to three months, they are expected to sell eggs to consumers at a lower price than the government’s control price.
