Sources from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) reveal that Namal Rajapaksa has been decided as the party’s presidential candidate. It was initially planned to nominate well-known businessman Dhammika Perera for the candidacy tomorrow (07), but the decision has since changed, according to party sources.
Therefore, Namal Rajapaksa is expected to be introduced as the presidential candidate tomorrow at the party’s office in Battaramulla. Dhammika Perera has communicated his withdrawal decision in a letter to SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam this evening, according to sources close to Dhammika Perera.
