MP Rishard to be produced before prison tribunal!

MP Rishad Bathiudeen is due to be produced before the prison tribunal again on the 24th October in connection with the incident where a mobile phone was found in a cell, Prison spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said.

The MP has filed the charges before the Prisons Tribunal Magistrate via Skype yesterday. At the time, he had pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The phone was found in the possession of the MP while he was in the Magazine Prison on September 01. A jailor who was charged in connection with the incident was transferred to the Vavuniya Prison.
