The government and the Election Commission are engaged in a discussion to take a firm decision before December 12th regarding the postponement of the local government elections.

Sources revealed that both parties and several other political groups have expressed their willingness to postpone this election due to the country’s financial situation.

Sources confirmed that some representatives of several political parties in the opposition who are currently engaged in the election campaign have informed the government unofficially that an election is not appropriate at this time.

Accordingly, it is known that all arrangements are now underway to postpone the election.

The FR case filed before the Supreme Court requesting postponement of the election is scheduled to be heard on the 10th.

After considering the financial situation of the state, a proposal to postpone the election has been prepared to be submitted to the court on that day.

Meanwhile, the President has planned to start the fourth session of the 9th Parliament on the 8th and make a special statement to the country.

A government spokesperson said that in that statement, the current economic crisis and expenses in the country as well as the future development plan up to 2048 are planned to be unveiled.
