The Ministry of Health has shifted its focus towards the implementation of a system that ensures patients receive only essential medications, as outlined in a recent report.
According to a senior spokesperson from the Ministry, discussions are set to take place in the upcoming week with specialists to emphasize the importance of prescribing essential medicines to patients.
This program is viewed as a proactive measure to address the potential shortage of medications in hospitals, particularly in light of the suspension of emergency drug purchases.
The spokesperson noted that drug suppliers have ceased deliveries due to outstanding debts amounting to significant sums. As a result, with emergency purchases also halted, there is a looming inevitability of a severe medication shortage in the near future.
