Now Controlled prices will be implied only on PCR tests, Dengue Test and drinking water bottles and since there is no need of an essential services Commissioner his servics has been terminated , State Minister of Consumer Protection Lasantha Alagiyawanna said yesterday.
Minister Alagiyawanna has further said that the government had decided that the role of the essential Commissioner General was not necessary and that the law had been passed for only one month. However he assured that a kilogram of sugar will not be sold for more than 150 rupees.
The price of a kilo of sugar is 138 rupees and the retail price is between 145 and 150 rupees.
