The Anti-Corruption Unit has successfully apprehended Ajith Sisira Kumara, the alleged mastermind behind a fraudulent scheme that duped numerous individuals across the country by promising lucrative job opportunities in Italy. Kumara was taken into custody at a hotel located in Colombo Fort shortly after his return from Dubai. Additionally, two individuals responsible for his illegal entry into the country were also apprehended in Kiribathgoda.
It has come to light that the primary suspect, Kumara, had been leading an opulent lifestyle financed by the ill-gotten gains from his fraudulent activities. Authorities have launched further investigations into the arrested individuals.
