Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Girlfriend in Boarding Room

The Homagama police have apprehended a man suspected of slitting his girlfriend’s throat in a boarding room. The victim, a 31-year-old woman from Ampitiya’s Gotatetta area, lost her life in this incident.

The arrested suspect, a 32-year-old resident of Dehiwala, is currently under investigation for the alleged murder.

The incident came to light when the attending physician at Kalutara Nagoda Hospital raised suspicions about the behavior of a man seeking medical treatment yesterday (08) morning.

During questioning by hospital authorities, it was revealed that the man had assaulted his girlfriend with a sharp weapon in a boarding room located on Homagama Court Road.

Subsequently, the Homagama police were alerted to the situation, and upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of the victim, who had been killed by having her throat slit.

Following an inquiry by the Magistrate, the victim’s body was released to her family. The Homagama police are continuing their investigations into the case.
