Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who was admitted to a private hospital in Colombo, is reportedly in stable condition, according to MP Namal Rajapaksa.
Speaking to the media, Namal Rajapaksa said there was no reason for the public to worry, noting that his father’s health issue was minor. He explained that age-related concerns and the current weather, which can trigger colds and flu, had contributed to the situation.
He added that the hospital admission was mainly to carry out a series of medical examinations that doctors had earlier advised.
“My father was admitted to complete several routine tests recommended by his doctors. His health is fine,” Namal Rajapaksa confirmed.
