The first death in Kandy due to a household LP gas explosion has been reported yesterday , Pallekele Police said.
W. Priyangani, 51, a housewife in the house, was admitted to the Kandy General Hospital with severe burn injuries following the blast which occurred at around 3.50 am on the 1st.
She had been receiving treatment at Ward 12 of the Kandy National Hospital for 10 days and died at around 8.50 last night, police said. The accident took place at No. 177/77, Nattarampotha, Kundasale. The family of the deceased woman lived in a rented house .
