State Minister of Prison Lohan Ratwatte has tendered his resignation today (15). President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has accepted his resignation sources said.
The State minister came under controversy over two incidents that recently happened in Anuradhapura and welikada Prisons.
While in a visit to Anuradhapura Prison, the minister was alleged that summoned some prisoners out from the cells and threatened them after kneeling down them. Sri Lankan resident representative of UN also condemned his act this morning.
